Waste Management & Segregation Services in Chennai
PropSquare LifeSpaces Management serves Chennai with waste segregation and bulk-waste compliance for apartment complexes, the IT parks along OMR, offices, hospitals and commercial sites. The Greater Chennai Corporation has moved fast on the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. In July 2026 it gave bulk generators (sites above 20,000 square metres, 40 KLD of water use or 100 kg of waste a day, including residents' associations and IT parks) 15 days to register on both the GCC and CPCB portals, required them to process wet waste on site and file quarterly reports, and set penalties for non-compliance. In September 2026 it made four-way segregation mandatory for households. Behind it all sit the Perungudi and Kodungaiyur dumpsites, where years of mixed waste are still being biomined. We help Chennai sites meet the rules, keep their waste rooms working through the monsoon and keep the records the Corporation now asks for.

Why choose PropSquare Waste Management & Segregation Services in Chennai?
Serving Chennai with supervised crews
Supervised crews serve Chennai's residential, office and IT-park corridors, with one named Service Manager who owns the segregation system, the GCC and CPCB registrations and the reports.
On the Corporation's timetable
GCC applied the 2026 bulk-generator thresholds in July 2026 with a 15-day registration window, on-site processing and quarterly reporting, and penalties for non-compliance. It made four-way segregation mandatory in September. We check your site's status, register it, set up processing and file the reports on schedule.
Wet waste that stays on site
Bulk generators must now process biodegradable waste on site. We size composting or converters to the daily wet waste, train operators, keep units maintained and log compost output, so processing is real and documented.
Waste rooms that survive the monsoon
Between October and December, waterlogged waste rooms and overflowing bins become a health and pest problem quickly. We set up raised, covered storage, keep drains clear, adjust collection schedules when roads flood and deep-clean waste points after the rains.
Crews on our own payroll
Housekeeping crews employed by PropSquare, EPF and ESI compliant and supervised on site, trained to keep waste separated at the source.
Evidence, not assurances
Collection rounds, waste-room checks and processing logs are recorded against QR-coded checklists, so the quarterly report to the Corporation is backed by daily records.

Frequently asked questions
Do we need to register as a bulk waste generator with the Greater Chennai Corporation?
If your site has 20,000 square metres or more of floor area, uses 40 KLD or more of water, or generates 100 kg or more of waste a day, yes. GCC applied these 2026 thresholds in July 2026, covering residents' associations, IT parks and offices, and asked bulk generators to register on both the GCC and CPCB portals. We check your status and complete the registration.
What happens if we do not comply?
GCC has announced penalties for bulk generators that do not register, process wet waste on site or report as required, and the 2026 Rules also provide for environmental compensation.
Is four-way segregation now compulsory in Chennai?
Yes. GCC made four-way segregation (wet, dry, sanitary and special care) mandatory in September 2026, in line with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026. We set up the bins and train residents and staff.
How do we stop our waste room flooding in the monsoon?
Store bins on a raised, covered platform, keep the drains around the waste area clear, avoid holding waste longer than necessary when collection is disrupted, and clean and disinfect after the rains. We plan this before October.
What happens to our e-waste?
Under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, bulk consumers must hand e-waste only to a registered producer, recycler or refurbisher. We set up a collection point and channel items accordingly.
Which parts of Chennai do you cover?
We serve Chennai's main residential, office and IT corridors, including OMR, ECR, Sholinganallur, Velachery, Adyar, Guindy, Anna Nagar, Porur, Ambattur and Tambaram.
Can we take waste management on its own?
Yes. It is a complete service by itself. If you later want full housekeeping or pest control from us, that is a separate conversation, never a condition of starting.
