Is CCTV mandatory for our building in Hyderabad?
For establishments where 100 or more people are likely to gather (commercial premises, hospitals, schools, malls, religious places and similar), Telangana's Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Act, 2013 requires access control and CCTV at entry and exit points and in parking areas, with footage kept for 30 days. Residential communities are not named in the Act, but most install CCTV for their own security. We check what applies to your building during the survey.
How long should we keep CCTV footage?
For establishments under the Public Safety Act, at least 30 days. For other sites it is a policy decision, and the new data-protection rules expect personal data not to be kept longer than needed. We size storage so the recorder actually holds the period you choose.
Can the community's cameras help the police?
Hyderabad police encourage residents and businesses to install cameras that support policing through community CCTV schemes such as Nenu Saitham. We can position gate and boundary cameras with that in mind, while footage access stays under the community's control.
Can you take over a system installed by our builder?
Yes. We inventory every camera, reader and recorder, reset passwords, update firmware, replace what has failed and bring the system under one AMC, keeping working hardware rather than replacing it by default.
Do the new data-protection rules affect our CCTV?
Yes. Footage of identifiable people is generally treated as personal data, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 bring most obligations into force from 13 May 2027.
